Regula Berger, CEO and chair of the executive board of its parent company Basler Kantonalbank (BKB), has been elected chair of the board of directors at Bank Cler. She was appointed at the bank’s general meeting yesterday.
Berger became CEO and chair of the BKB board on 1 March, succeeding Basil Heeb, who announced his resignation last autumn. She succeeds him again at Bank Cler, where she has been a board member since 2019.
Berger’s election makes her one of the few women to chair a Swiss bank. The proportion of women on the bank’s board is now 57%, well above the Swiss average.
