Government to appoint external chair at BLKB after writedown

The Basel-Landschaft government is set to appoint an external chair on an interim basis for Basellandschaftliche Kantonalbank (BLKB).

The new person should take office by 1 September 2025, alongside the necessary Finma approval. The government hopes to elect a permanent chair by 1 July 2026.

This decision results from BLKB’s writedown on its stake in digital bank Radicant.
