Process now beats personality for UBP’s Chan-Voc-Chun

The age of the star manager has been eclipsed by collaboration and technical analysis in fund management, according to UBP’s Didier Chan-Voc-Chun.

‘Having worked in this field for two decades, I’ve witnessed a shift away from “star managers”. The new generation of managers tends to rely more on analytical tools and collaborative decision-making, mitigating the impact of any single departure,’ he said. 

Chan-Voc-Chun was promoted to head of multi-management and fund solutions in January this year, having joined UBP in 2011.
