The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has resumed processing registration applications from investment advisers with their main office in Switzerland.
This decision, effective from today, is a result of a successful meeting between the SEC and the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority (Finma).
The decision hinged upon Finma-supervised and SEC-registered Swiss investment advisers providing books, records and personal data to the SEC and the SEC’s ability to perform onsite checks consistent with US and Swiss laws.
