Two decades in alts and no evergreens

Rothschild & Co’s Jessica Sellam has been happily allocating to private markets for decades through closed-end funds and says that there is no immediate need for evergreens, despite the growing popularity of the vehicles. 

Paris-based Sellam (pictured) has worked at the private bank for 19 years, and took on the head of private markets group role in 2023, leading fund selection in this area for the wealth division. 

Clients of the private bank can gain access to both external fund managers, and the firm’s alternatives asset management division, named Five Arrows.
