Former chair of the board of directors of UBS, Axel Weber, has joined the advisory board of New York-based AI financial service company Model ML.
Weber accompanies several other notable individuals on the board. These include ex-HSBC CEO Noel Quinn, former Morgan Stanley chair Saul Nathan and former Appleby partner Keith Robinson.
He also joins two recent additions to the board: former UBS joint head of investment banking Jeff McDermott, who joined in early May, and former Julius Baer CEO Philipp Rickenbacher, who joined at the end of May.
Weber was chair of UBS from 2012 until 2022.
Prior to his time here, he was appointed president of the Deutsche Bundesbank in 2004. He announced his resignation in 2011, one year before his term was due to end.
Model ML is headquartered in New York, with offices in San Francisco, London, and Hong Kong. It provides AI services built to automate, analyse and streamline workflows.
